I’ve been sick since last monday. It started with a minor cold that wasn’t getting better, so when wednesday came and I could go home, I thought 4 days of sleep at home without exposure to other people could help, but I was wrong. On wednesday, before I left, I had an encounter with someone who was also sick, but impulse gave in since we were both sick anyways, but she got me more sick over the holiday. My cold got worse as my throat and nasal passaged began to hurt more and I coughed to the point where I had to squeeze something since it’d be extremely painful to cough. Mysteriously, my left eye began to turn red and felt somewhat dry. This spread to my other eye and now I wake up with crusty eyes that feel dry.
By Sunday, before coming back to school, my nose down to my windpipe was fucked. But my mom, being the caring person she is, made me soymilk, the problem is, you shouldn’t trust food or drink that’s fermented or curdled at home and I overlooked this. Yesterday morning, I began one of 10+ trips to the bathrooom with excruciating intestinal pain on and off the toilet. All the toilet paper wiping had worn out my ass and it hurts and bleeds to shit and wipe now. All the while I’m still fucked up (but very slowly recovering) from my nasal and throat infections, my severe coughing, and eye infection. I stopped eating last night, so my stomach is hopefully empty of food now.
It’s been pretty unproductive for me, since I haven’t been able to go to class or study for my finals like everyone else. I don’t know why my winter illness had to come so soon this year, but what could I do besides keep optimistic?
